Install a new patio to breathe new life into an unused space
Create outdoor dining and social spaces for the family or extend your garden with a low-maintenance, long-lasting patio designed perfectly for your needs.
Patios come in many attractive colours and finishes from modern porcelain tiles, traditional Indian sandstone, and versatile monoblock. So there’s a striking patio design to suit everyone’s style…
Paved to perfection and made to last
When you lay a new patio, you want to ensure it’s done right. They should be used in all weathers, without worry.
Patios that have been installed without the proper groundwork can shift and sink after only a few months, don’t drain water properly, or weeds pop up between the cracks.
At Ralston Contracts, we know that the foundations are just as important as the final look. That’s why we always pave the way to perfection, so your new patio has a long lifespan and you can enjoy it for years.
We offer the following types of patios in Ayrshire:
Porcelain tiles
Creating a beautiful modern finish that’s hard-wearing and easy to clean, no wonder porcelain tiles are a popular choice for patios. With endless designs, there’s a porcelain tile to suit every aesthetic.
Indian sandstone
With either a traditional riven finish or a sleek, flat surface, Indian sandstone creates a perfect patio material. Choose warm, earthy tones to complement your home and garden design.
Monoblock patios
Monoblock has an interlocking system that provides a long-lasting finish that’s resistant to shifting or sinking, making it perfect for patios. Plus, you can completely tailor the design to suit your style.
Installing pergolas to enjoy your patio all year round
When you create an outdoor patio area, you don’t want it to be only used for those rare few sunny days…
To enhance your space, we can add a pergola to the design so you can enjoy your new patio in all types of weather. Choose from traditional timber pergolas to modern aluminium designs with electrical rotating slats and lighting features.
With a pergola, you can install outdoor heaters and retractable shade and rain covers. This means you have the flexibility to use your space from a crisp winter’s evening to a beautiful summer’s day.
Complementing your home and garden aesthetic
Replacing or designing a new patio can be a tough decision – with so many materials and designs to choose from, it can feel hard to know where to start.
Our landscape design consultation means we can help you make the right choice for your home, lifestyle, and budget.
All of our patio installation projects in Ayrshire are treated with the same attention to detail, from the groundwork to the final line of grout.

FAQs: Patio fitting in Ayrshire
What areas do you carry out patio projects?
We cover all of South, East, and North Ayrshire. Plus, we will travel down to the Dumfries and Galloway area, going as far as Lendalfoot and to the south side of Glasgow near East Kilbride.
Can you design my new patio if I’m not sure what I want?
Yes, we offer a landscape design consultation for all customers to ensure you get the design and finish you deserve, even if you’re not sure what that should look like. During the consultation, we will discuss your options and present some design options for your new patio.
What if my garden has poor drainage?
If you’re worried about your ground not having adequate drainage for a patio, we can evaluate your space and either advise the best way to approach your groundwork or tell you if the ground is unsuitable. We would never quote for a project that wouldn’t get excellent results for you.
Can I see a visual design of my new patio?
Yes, if you want a hand-sketched design of your new patio, we can provide that for you at the quotation stage. We also offer 3D design sketches which come at a small extra fee.
Can you also build new steps for my patio?
Of course! We offer landscape design services such as building steps and any pathways that are needed to make your new patio fit for use and, more importantly, safe.
When can you fit my patio for me?
Our waiting times depend on our current projects in the diary. All new projects are first come, first served at our next available date – and we’ll let you know when we send your quote.
If you have a specific deadline to complete your patio installation, let us know when you get in touch and we can say if that’s realistic for us or not, so you don’t waste any time finding someone who can help.
Can you fix part of my current patio?
If you have a damaged patio that needs repairing, we can help with this too. The process remains the same, so get in touch and we’ll take it from there.
How do you stop weeds from coming through our new patio?
We use high-quality weed control, called TERRAM WeedGuard™. This ensures no weeds get through your new patio.
How much does it cost to install patios?
You can download our pricing guide for a rough idea, but all projects receive a personalised quote after a site visit based on what you need, material choices, and the exact area size of your patio.
How do we pay for your patio fitting services?
For each project, we ask for a 10% deposit to secure your date. Depending on the turnaround time and size of your job, we will either ask for 40% two weeks before and the final 50% on completion, or if you have a larger job, we split the payments into instalments of 25% to spread the cost further. All of this can be discussed when we send your personalised quote and project timeline.
